The left and right racing lines on this drag strip are occupied by cars that are separated not just by a safety wall but also by more than four decades. You may consider this to be a race between a grandpa and his nephew since they share the same name and badge, and in a way these cars really do share their bloodline. Just like you would be able to walk into a dealership and buy a Challenger that has huge horsepower numbers back in 1971, the situation is pretty similar today with the SRT Hellcat. Now in all fairness the result was never going to be close, we are glad to say that grandpa still has some agility. Check out this video of a drag race between a ’71 Challenger and a brand new Challenger SRT Hellcat and tell us which one would you drive off with if given the option?
