MUSTANG MOST SEARCHED FOR COLLECTOR CAR ONLINE
We recently received a report from our friends at ClassicCars.com outlining the most searched for classic automobiles on a state-by-state basis and it should come as little surprise to our readers that the classic Ford Mustang was tops in the search results with 1965 and 1967 model years being the most popular. The Mustang ranked first in 14 states, followed by several GM models. The only other Ford model to have multiple top state searches was the Thunderbird.
ClassicCars.com registers over 330,000 daily searches with three million monthly visitors! The Mustang is responsible for 3,736,942 unique searches in 2016 on the website. Overall Ford models took top searches in 20 states, with 49 states having a classic domestic vehicle as its top search. The lone import state? Why that would be Connecticut with their top search being for Mercedes-Benz. Trucks topped only two states, West Virginia and Oklahoma.
“Owning pristine collector vehicles—particularly domestic performance and muscle cars—continues to be a passion for many Americans, from the most seasoned collectors to enthusiasts making their first purchase,” said Roger Falcione, president and CEO of ClassicCars.com. “In fact, two vehicles on our list—the Ford Fairlane and Dodge Charger—play prominent roles in ‘The Fate of the Furious,’ which recently topped $1 billion box office sales worldwide, attest to the international interest in American performance and muscle cars.”
This new report comes as ClassicCars.com builds its presence as a premier source of collector car news and information, data, insight and analysis, as well as an unparalleled selection of for-sale vehicles.
