YOU CAN ORDER 1,000 HP SUBURBAN OR TAHOE, STRAIGHT FROM THE DEALER
It seems like the Internet has done a really good job of desensitizing us to what substantial horsepower is. While the web might tell us that anything short of 1000 ponies isn’t worth tinkering with, the reality is that most people will be perfectly happy with maybe 600 or 700 hp. However, that doesn’t stop shops from cranking out these high horsepower builds and having people gawk over them. After all, while it might be unnecessary, lots of power can certainly be a lot of fun. Apparently, these days, even the dealership is getting in on retailing 1,000-horsepower builds.
Thanks to Specialty Vehicle Engineering, the same company that cranks out the Yenko trim level, customers with an open wallet can now get a 1,000 hp Chevy Tahoe or Suburban, still with a warranty. According to Maxim, “All SVE upgrades come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty on the engine and body.” They continue that this comes alongside a one-year, 12,000-mile warranty on the tranny. There aren’t many other places where consumers going to be able to go out and procure that kind of power, all with the peace of mind that if they break something, somebody is going to fix it at their cost. For those looking to maintain all-wheel-drive, something not provided by the top tier, 1,000 hp package, customers can downgrade to an 810 hp package. This package features the same 6.8-liter supercharged V8 engine found in the Stage II trucks. The Stage I package includes a forged steel crankshaft, aluminum pistons, CNC-ported LT1 heads, a supercharger, headers, and an optional heavy-duty transmission. This is short of the fuel system, CNC-ported LT4 heads, larger supercharger with more boost, and larger throttle body offered by the stage II combination. Stage II also comes with an upgraded transmission standard. For those who want to get their hands on either of the available packages, they can be ordered through a normal Chevy dealer. $44,995 will grab the stage I goodies and $66,995 will procure stage II. Both of these prices are on top of the purchase price of the new Tahoe or Suburban of the customer’s choosing.
